We (Julia and Di) set up Critical Publishing in 2012 with the aim of providing books and ebooks for educators, students and practitioners in the education and social work sectors. Given the state of the economy and the deluge of material already available, this may appear a risky step – but we believe there is always space for high quality new publishing from commissioning editors who know their markets inside out, who tirelessly seek out the best authors and who have a real passion for their subjects and what they are doing. Details of our current and forthcoming titles can be found at http://www.criticalpublishing.com.
In this blog we will be talking about a wide range of relevant issues and we’ll be inviting our authors to contribute and start conversations about their research, teaching and writing. If you are a student, lecturer or practitioner and feel you too have something relevant to say here – do get involved by participating in the comments, or by contacting us about contributing posts to the blog.
We may also touch on life as an independent publisher, the travails of being a small business and what inspires and catches our attention in the the worlds of education and social work.
Latest posts will appear on the right hand side of this page – click, read, enjoy and comment if you’re inspired to.
